Elizabeth “Liz” Schuster is a dedicated family law attorney who brings a deeply rooted commitment to protecting families and a profound dedication to child advocacy. Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, she attended Madison West High School and graduated from Lawrence University with a degree in English. After completing her first year of law school at Denver University, she transferred to Marquette University, where she earned her law degree in May 2007 and joined the legal practice alongside her father, Jack Schuster. Liz’s practice focuses extensively on family law litigation, navigating complex matters such as divorce, child custody and placement, child support, property division, domestic violence, and child abuse. Her approach to family law is first and foremost child-based, operating under the firm belief that a child's best interests should always take absolute priority in any legal proceeding.
In addition to her private practice, Liz is regularly appointed by the Court to act as a Guardian ad Litem, representing the best interests of children in custody disputes, adoptions, and child abuse restraining orders. Her specialized expertise in this field is backed by a Guardian ad Litem certification, foundational internship experience with the Milwaukee Legal Aid Society’s Guardian ad Litem division in Milwaukee County Children’s Court, and the prestigious CALI Excellence for the Future Award. A recognized leader in her field, Liz frequently shares her knowledge as a presenter for the State Bar of Wisconsin, educating peer professionals on financial litigation, legal ethics, domestic violence, and Guardian ad Litem training. Her professional excellence and commitment to her clients earned her consecutive selections to the Super Lawyers, Wisconsin Rising Stars list from 2015 through 2018.
