About Alton C. Todd

Alton C. Todd is a Texas personal injury attorney who has spent his career representing injured clients across Galveston, Houston, and surrounding communities. A native Texan raised in Hamilton, he built his early foundation through hard work while completing his education at North Texas State University and later earning his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he contributed to the Southwestern Law Journal. Even while studying, he balanced full-time work and family responsibilities, a discipline that carried into his legal career.

After graduating in 1971, Alton began practicing with Mills Shirley on Galveston Island, later joining plaintiff-focused firms where he quickly advanced to partnership. His career has spanned more than five decades, including leadership roles at firms that ultimately evolved into Todd & Haygood before he established The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd Personal Injury Lawyers in 2000. Since then, he has continued practicing from the historic Brown House in Friendswood, representing injury victims in complex litigation.

Alton is double board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law in Texas and is nationally certified as a civil trial advocate. He is also a former member of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been consistently recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer, including selection among the Top 10. Over his career, he has secured and resolved numerous high-value cases and earned a reputation for ethical practice and courtroom effectiveness.

Licensed in Texas and Georgia, Alton has recovered substantial results for clients while maintaining a long-standing commitment to trial advocacy and client service. Outside the courtroom, he is actively involved in his community in Friendswood, where he lives with his wife, Nari. He is a father of seven and grandfather of six, and continues to be engaged in youth sports, travel, and local civic activities.
