Since beginning his legal career in 1979, Roy has guided clients through some of life’s most important and challenging moments, offering practical solutions backed by deep legal knowledge and a commitment to personalized service.
Throughout his distinguished career, Roy successfully led a respected private practice focused on family law, personal injury, estate planning, successions, and collections. In 2022, he co-founded Bowes, Petkovich & Palmer, LLC, bringing decades of experience and leadership to the firm. Today, as Senior Counsel, he continues to provide valuable guidance and strategic insight while serving clients and mentoring fellow attorneys.
Roy is widely recognized for his commitment to resolving disputes efficiently and respectfully. Trained in the collaborative divorce process and a charter member of the Collaborative Professionals Group of Southeast Louisiana, he is also a qualified mediator for divorce, custody, and child support matters. His extensive mediation experience includes resolving more than 450 hurricane damage claims on behalf of the Louisiana Insurance Commissioner.
Beyond his legal practice, Roy remains actively involved in the community and professional organizations, serving on the Board of Directors of the St. Thomas More Catholic Lawyers’ Association and holding leadership roles within the Christian Legal Society. His dedication to service, professionalism, and client-focused advocacy continues to make him a valued resource for those seeking experienced legal counsel.
