Derek M. Patterson, Esq. was born and raised in West Philadelphia, where his family instilled in him the value of striving for excellence in every endeavor. He went on to attend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Driven by a passion for advocacy and inspired by the example of his grandfather, Derek set his sights on becoming a trial attorney.

He pursued his Juris Doctor at Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he remained steadfast in his commitment to his chosen path despite the challenges of law school. Derek’s perseverance and dedication to his craft shaped the foundation of his legal career.
