Derek is the founder and principal of Rolo Law Personal Injury Lawyers. Derek brings decades of experience and a deep commitment to the community he calls home.
Raised in the Hudson Valley, Derek takes pride in serving the region where he grew up. After graduating with honors from the State University of New York at Cortland, Derek earned his law degree from Villanova University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in both New York and New Jersey.
Derek built his firm to stand up for everyday people in need of a strong advocate in their corner. His mission is simple: make sure ordinary people are treated fairly when facing powerful insurance companies and corporations.
Before founding his own firm, Derek gained extensive experience handling complex litigation and high-stakes negotiations at every level of the legal system. He began his legal career at Anapol Weiss, a nationally recognized personal injury firm known for major tort litigation. He later joined Rogers McCarron & Habas, where he focused on personal injury and real estate law.
Derek went on to serve as an Assistant County Attorney for Orange County, defending personal injury and commercial lawsuits on behalf of the County. He then served as Principal Attorney at the New York Power Authority, where he negotiated and structured multi-billion-dollar energy and infrastructure projects and worked directly with some of the largest corporations and law firms in the world in high stakes commercial transactions.
