Christopher T. Van Wagner

Christopher T. Van Wagner is a criminal defense attorney in Wisconsin with nearly 45 years of legal experience, including over 30 years focused exclusively on criminal defense. He represents individuals facing state and federal charges, including OWI, assault, sexual assault, homicide, and serious felony offenses. A former state and federal prosecutor, he has extensive trial experience, including more than 50 felony jury trials as a prosecutor. Since returning to private practice in 1994, he has dedicated his work to defending clients in complex criminal cases.

Christopher earned his law degree from Cornell University Law School, where he served as a Law Review editor, and graduated with honors in English Literature from St. Lawrence University. He holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, has been recognized as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer, and serves as president of the Dane County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. As a solo practitioner, he works directly with clients throughout their cases.
