Cynthia founded the firm now known as Broadfoot in 1997 and has practiced law in Vermont since 1989. Her practice focuses primarily on personal injury and family law, with additional experience in appeals, criminal defense, probate and estate matters, and real estate. She has extensive courtroom experience in trial courts and has argued before the Vermont Supreme Court and the United States District Court.
Cynthia has also worked as assigned counsel within the Chittenden County Public Defense system in family and district court proceedings. She received the Vermont Bar Association’s Pro Bono Service Award in 2003 for her pro bono work. She is admitted to practice in Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Cynthia serves on the board of governors for the Vermont Association for Justice and participates in trial college and continuing legal education programs.
