Marty Cirkiel

Marty Cirkiel is an attorney and Licensed Master Social Worker–Advanced Practitioner (LMSW-AP) with a professional background in social work, mental health services, and legal advocacy. Before becoming an attorney in 1991, he worked with individuals with severe disabilities and their families at Travis State School and Brenham State School. In 1984, he became Director of the Williamson County Mental Health Center, maintaining his social work licensure as an Advanced Practitioner.

After earning his law degree, Marty worked with the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation, investigating patient rights violations in psychiatric facilities. He also assisted with health care fraud and deceptive trade practices litigation alongside the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Department of Justice, later serving as General Counsel for Charter Medical Corp. Since entering private practice in 1995, he has collaborated with attorneys across Texas to litigate patient rights violations in mental health facilities, advocating for the rights and entitlements of adults and children with disabilities.
