Jeffrey J. Barnett

Jeffrey J. Barnett is a partner and the founder of a law firm established in 1995. His legal practice focuses on business collections, business transactional law, business entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, wills, trusts, estate planning, and probate. He is also a certified mediator who helps resolve disputes involving family, business, and civil law. Jeff is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Austin Bar Association, Austin Business Executives League, Metropolitan Breakfast Club, and Business Networking International.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Administration, with concentrations in Finance and Management, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. He attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, where he received two Dean’s Service Awards and was recognized twice in Who’s Who Among American Law Students. He participated actively in the Student Bar Association and several student organizations, including Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International, the National Lawyers Guild, Latino Law Society, Black Law Students Association, and Drake Law Women. Jeff has also supported access to justice through legal clinic work for low-income and elderly individuals and volunteer service with the Texas Civil Rights Project and Iowa Civil Rights Commission. Outside his legal practice, he is an avid runner and marathon coach who has completed more than 35 marathons across over 15 states.
