Ryan has been an attorney since 1995 and has extensive experience in Oregon criminal defense. Before starting his own law firm, he served as Chief Attorney of the Major Felony Section at Metropolitan Public Defenders, Inc. He handles criminal cases at both the trial and appellate levels and has experience with complex criminal defense and sentencing issues.
From 2006 to 2010, Ryan chaired the Education Committee of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, helping organize conferences and develop legal arguments and defense resources. He has received the OCDLA President’s Award multiple times and regularly speaks at legal conferences. Ryan edited the OCDLA Search and Seizure manual and has authored chapters on drug crimes, murder, criminal defenses, and pre-trial motions. He also writes regularly for Oregon Library of Defense.
