Joseph Yar

Joseph Yar is the principal of The Law Office of Joseph Yar PC in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He provides legal advice and representation in complex corporate matters, bankruptcy, criminal defense, and regulatory compliance. He earned his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Montclair State University.

Before establishing his solo practice in January 2020, Yar served as Deputy Director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Division at the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General. His responsibilities included overseeing investigative and litigation activities, supervising multidisciplinary staff, developing policies, and coordinating with state and federal agencies. He also worked in the Attorney General’s Consumer and Environmental Protection Division, representing the state in utility and telecommunications regulatory matters, rate cases, and appeals before the New Mexico Supreme Court. Earlier in his career, he practiced at Lowenstein Sandler PC.
