Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Heather graduated from Omaha North High School and the University of Nebraska at Omaha before earning her Juris Doctor from Duke University in 2010. During law school, she interned with Legal Aid of Nebraska, Legal Aid of North Carolina, and the Duke Legal Project, primarily working on family law matters. She also practiced personal injury law in Wisconsin for one year before returning to Omaha. Her appellate experience includes cases involving marital property division, domestic abuse protection orders, retroactive child support, and paternity disputes.
