Jennifer is certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She is a member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and the Santa Clara County Bar Association, serving on its Family Law Executive Committee, and has lectured at seminars for the Bar Association and Santa Clara University School of Law. She also serves as Judge Pro Tem for the Santa Clara County Superior Court.
Since becoming exclusively a family law attorney in 2000, Jennifer has acted as both litigator and mediator, successfully handling complex cases involving domestic violence, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, financial property, and divorce, as well as paternity, legal separation, and mediation. Before founding Mello & Pickering, LLP with Traci Pickering, she worked for the Santa Cruz County Public Defender's Office and the Santa Clara County Alternate Defender's Office.
